Journalist Mark Harris interviewed Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis in October 2012. It was the first in-depth interview the two conducted regarding the filming of LINCOLN. These are but a few take-aways.

• When asked how he approached the idea of portraying Lincoln, Daniel Day-Lewis replied, "I fled ... I didn't honestly feel that I was capable of doing that work."
